Why are we called Bio-Beds Plus? The answer is in “bio”
In French, “bio” means organic. That connection inspired our name from day one and reflects our passion for organic materials and thoughtfully chosen bedding. We believe good sleep starts with a comfortable, well-protected bed.
Sleep & Beyond's organic cotton mattress protection brings that philosophy to life: soft organic jersey cotton paired with an innovative waterproof layer made using bio-based materials.
Organic cotton comfort meets corn-based waterproofing
The Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector and Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Encasement combine two layers of soft organic cotton jersey with a TPU waterproof barrier. The cotton delivers a gentle fabric surface, while the TPU protects against spills and stains.
Sleep & Beyond describes its signature TPU as non-GMO, bio-based and derived from corn starch, and describes the coating as biodegradable. Its organic cotton waterproof products offer a breathable, quiet, crinkle-free alternative to vinyl mattress protection.
The manufacturer lists these organic cotton products as free of vinyl/PVC and phthalates. The cotton fabric is GOTS-certified organic, and Sleep & Beyond identifies the TPU film as OEKO-TEX certified and approved by GOTS. Thoughtfully chosen components work together to deliver practical, everyday protection.
Three ways to protect your mattress
1. Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector: easy fitted protection
Enjoy five-sided waterproof protection over the top and all four sides of your mattress. Soft organic cotton jersey and a fitted skirt make this a convenient everyday choice for spills, stains and easy bedding changes. Adult sizes fit mattresses up to 18 inches deep; the crib size fits up to 6 inches.

FAQs: Organic Waterproof Mattress Protectors and Bio-Beds Plus

How does the “bio” philosophy connect to your organic waterproof mattress protectors?
Sleep & Beyond's organic cotton protector and encasement pair GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric with a waterproof TPU layer that the manufacturer describes as non-GMO, bio-based and derived from corn starch. This combination brings together organic cotton comfort and practical mattress protection.
Where can I buy organic waterproof mattress protectors online for delivery in Ontario?

What is the difference between a fitted waterproof mattress protector and a zippered encasement?

Which waterproof mattress protector should I choose?
Choose the fitted organic cotton protector for easy everyday protection, the organic cotton encasement for six-sided coverage, or myProtector for washable wool filling with a natural cotton surface. Measure your mattress width, length and total depth, including any topper to be covered, and match the dimensions to your chosen product.
Do all three mattress protectors use organic cotton?
No. The Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector and Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Encasement both use GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric with a TPU waterproof layer. myProtector uses natural cotton percale, not certified organic cotton, together with washable Shropshire wool filling and a TPU waterproof coating.
